Volunteer Spots Available for EAR Reading Program

RTE is looking for volunteers* to take part in a new volunteer based program at Round Top, called EAR.

EAR stands for Encourage A Reader.  It is a volunteer based program in which volunteers will read one on one with a student for 15 minutes a week.  The students that will participate in the program are selected by the teachers.  These students may simply just need some extra reading time, encouragement, assistance etc.  It is designed to encourage a student to enjoy the wonderful world of reading.

"The Journey of a Lifetime starts with the turning of a page...Rachel Anders"

This program makes does make a difference in a students life.  And it's simple.  Volunteers can listen to the student read, take turns reading with the student, or simply read to the student.

We would like to invite you to an informal meeting where you can find out more information regarding this program on Friday, April 8, at 8:30am.  Please feel free to contact Tracy Deets with any questions regarding EAR.  tadeets@yahoo.com

* Please note, all volunteers must have completed the Secure Volunteer process to work one on one with a student.  If you are not registered for this, please contact Mrs. Butler for more information.  anbutler@richland2.org
