IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Pick Up of Grade Level Materials!

Please read below for important and specific information for picking up your student's materials/packets.

Pick Up Schedule:

  • Today, Friday, December 18th in Bus Loop 12 - 5pm; @ Boys & Girls Club until 6:30pm.

(Students in the Boys & Girls Club will be dismissed through the Bus Loop today, also! – look for the sign and ring the doorbell please.)

  • Monday, December 21 and Tuesday, December 22 from 8am – 4pm in the RTE Atrium:

· Kindergarten packets will be ready for ALL students Monday, 12/21

· 1st Grade eLearner packets are ready for pickup. F2F students will bring home packets today.  There will be a need for an additional pick up day on Jan 7 or 8 for ALL 1st graders.

· 2nd grade everything for elearners is available for pick up and F2F students will bring packet home today.

· 3rd Grade everything for elearners is ready and available for pick up. F2F students will bring home what they need.

· 4th Grade elearning items have been available and still are. F2F students will bring home what they need …. only a scholastic news.

· 5th Grade elearners items have been ready and still are. F2F students will bring home anything they need.

Round Top parents/guardians! Many of you should have received an email (sample below) that indicated you ordered a free thermometer from Kinsa. If so, it is on the way!


If you did not order, or did not received a confirmation email, please follow the directions below. The deadline has been extended to December 11, 2020!

RTE's picture day is scheduled for Dec. 2, 2020 for face-to-face/in person students only. On Jan. 13, 2021, picture day will be held for eLearners.

NOTE: the "Celebrate Tucker" holiday pjs/sweater day originally scheduled for Dec. 2 has been postponed due to picture day.

7-day Meal Packs Available - Friday, Nov. 20

On Friday, November 20, 2020 from 8am-11am, all students or parents of students, to include eLearners, elementary and secondary, will be offered 7-day meal packs to provide nutrition for students during the Thanksgiving week.

Pumpkin Book Character Contest Winners Announced!

Book Character Pumpkin Contest - 2020 style!

  • Work on your own or with your siblings
  • Use an artificial (fake) pumpkin the size of a pie pumpkin. (think small, but not miniature) (Michaels, Hobby Lobby)
  • Decorate the pumpkin to look like a favorite character(s) from a children’s book. 
  • Use your imagination! You may want to paint your pumpkin or use other materials to decorate the pumpkin.

Student's Learning Model for Phase 2

If a parent(s)/guardian wants to change their student’s learning model (in-person or eLearning) for Phase 2, please contact the school by 9am Monday, October 19, 2020. After this deadline, there will be other opportunities to switch between eLearning and in-person based on certain circumstances or at designated dates, which will be published before November 4, 2020.

Flu Vaccinations Available in the Midlands

 

The single best way to prevent seasonal flu is to get vaccinated each year!

Influenza (the flu) is a serious illness you can get from anyone infected.

Prisma Health is helping protect you and your family with FREE flu shots throughout Richland, Lexington, Fairfield, Kershaw and Sumter counties. The flu shot is available for anyone six months and older.

  • Flu shots will be administered by drive-through.
  • Please wear a short-sleeve shirt or loose-fitting clothing that can easily roll up to assist with vaccines.
  • Face masks or shields will be required, along with temperature checks. Anyone with a fever will not be allowed a flu shot vaccine.

Virtual Calming Notebooks

Parents and guardians,

Please check out the Virtual Calming Notebooks your student learned about in classroom guidance this week. It is very extensive and designed for children (and you!!) to practice mindfulness and skills to calm anxiety. I encourage you to use it daily! Here is a video with a quick overview. How to Troubleshoot Google Meet Issues








As more schools and universities across the U.S. began classes during the past week...

you may have noticed more challenges with virtual instruction due to increased "internet traffic." While internet performance is not in the school's circle of control, we acknowledge that it is a challenge for students and teachers alike. However, we can control our ability to overcome some of these challenges by troubleshooting! In the event you are experiencing slow connections, try the following:

Attendance during Phase I in Richland District Two

 Student attendance expectations during Phase I in Richland District Two.
  • Students are expected to attend all “live” class sessions (synchronous teaching) using Google Meet.
  • Teachers will take attendance daily in these Google Meets.
  • The Daily Attendance Activity (DPA) can be turned in up to Sunday at 11:59pm for the prior week.
  • Both methods will be used to determine student attendance. 
  • Attendance is reconciled each Monday morning for the prior week.

IMPORTANT Phase 1 Meal Updates

Beginning September 8, 2020, Richland Two will again be able to provide free meals to all students. For details of school curbside meal service and bus route service in the community, access details on the Richland Two website. (Be sure to scroll down screen to access information.)


2020-2021 Free and Reduced-Price Meal Applications

For families who qualify for free and reduced price meals, it is very important to apply for this status as soon as possible. Even though the district will be able to provide free meals through December 31, 2020, there are other benefits associated with this status.
