Young Poets Recognized at Statewide Event
Sonia Baxter, from Mrs. Beacham's 3rd grade class, has been named the statewide winner of the Young Minds Dreaming Poetry Contest sponsored by the SC State Library. Inspired by the poetry of Jacqueline Woodson (in front of the window in the picture above) and her award winning book, Brown Girl Dreaming, Sonia and most of our 3rd grade class submitted poetry to the contest.
