Each year elementary students from across the state of South Carolina audition for the South Carolina Music Educator's Association (SCMEA) Honor Choir. Each school is allowed to submit 6 recorded auditions to be judged. The audition is highly competitive. 500 students auditioned from 103 schools. Students who missed only 1 point or made a perfect score were accepted to be a part of this year's 200 member choir.
For the first time at Round Top, all 6 students who auditioned made it into the choir! Congratulations to Lauren Epps, Morgan Waklatsi, Alex Hardee, Riley Johnson, Emmalyn Gilbreth, and Kaylee Landmeyer! Mrs. Tamara Silva will teach these students the selected 3- part music prior to the honor choir rehearsals. Students will then rehearse with the entire choir under the direction of the clinician, Dr. Maribeth Yoder White. Their performance will be Saturday, February 7th at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.
Congratulations!
