Drive BYE and wave to your teachers as we celebrate the end of the school year! You must stay in your cars as you come through the car rider loop. Many teachers and staff will be outside to wave and put a big smile on your face along with our Boosterthon team.

Return/Pick-Up of Student Materials at RTE

Round Top Elementary announces its schedule of return and/or pick-up of student materials beginning Monday, June 1 through Wednesday, June 3. Please see below for your designated date/time. Questions should be directed to RTE administration. Principal Jeaneen Tucker's email is jtucker@richland2.org; cell phone number is 803-518-4896.

• Families with more than one last name will follow the schedule based on the last name of the oldest student in the family.
• The drop-off/pick-up of items will not require students or parents to exit their vehicles.
• Teachers will place students’ personal belongings in bags labeled with the students’ name.
• Parents will be asked to place items that need to be returned to school, including completed work, textbooks and library books, in a bag or small box. If possible we ask that you bag any Library books separately from other materials.
• Students who received Choice Board assignments should turn in work that was completed through May 29. The remaining Choice Board assignments are optional.

Special Events for Muller Road Middle School

• Rising 6th grade Orientation night through Facebook live on Tuesday, May 12th, from 7-8pm. During this virtual event MRM will provide important information to rising 6th grade parents as well as the enrichment registration process.

• Leadership at Muller Orientation Night for all rising Leadership Magnet students on Thursday, May 14th from 7-8pm. During this virtual event MRM will be providing important Magnet information for the 2020-2021 school year.

OPEN National Field Day - May 8, 2020

We’re excited to announce that our school community will be participating in the OPEN National Field Day event on ​Friday, May 8!

We were lucky enough to have held our Arts and Field Day back in November, but when this opportunity came up, we thought, why not do it again? This national event is a unique way we can stay connected as a community and support one another in a fun and meaningful way.

OPEN (Online Physical Education Network) is a national public service organization that provides curriculum and training support to more than 90,000 teachers in all 50 states. We will be using their resources and social media network to help us organize our school’s participation in #NationalFieldDay.

All #NationalFieldDay events are designed to be done indoors or outdoors using common household items. You won’t be asked to purchase any specialized equipment or supplies.
Here’s how it will work:

• ▪  Our school is now registered as a participant in this event. Families can choose to register as well, but it’s not a requirement.
  
• ▪  The event website is ​www.openphysed.org/nationalfieldday​.
  
• ▪  You can also find updates via social media using #NationalFieldDay.
  
• ▪  Click here to access on the RTE website a set of event cards that you can use to begin practicing. You will also receive a participant practice sheet for tracking progress.
  
• ▪  Your family will be asked to choose a minimum of 4 events to complete on Field Day.  However, you may complete as many events as you’d like to.
  
• ▪  From May 3 thru 7, we will follow #NationalFieldDay and watch the Field Day Torch travel across the country in preparation for the main event.
  
• ▪  On May 8, our entire school will participate in events, complete an official score card, share photos and videos via twitter (tag @MrLewisPE @RTEFlightStatus, and @RTEPTO) or the RTE PTO Facebook page, and participate nationally on social media using #NationalFieldDay.
  
• ▪  After the event, your student will submit his or her scorecard via Google Drive to Mr. Lewis at ​glewis@richland2.org​.
  
• ▪  Every student who completes at least 4 events will receive an OPEN National Field Day certificate.
  We will continue to send you updates on this fun and festive event. We appreciate your cooperation and are hopeful that your entire family will use it as a fun and meaningful way to be physically active together and with our entire school community.

Chromebook Walk-In Service Update

Beginning Monday, May 4th, Richland 2 will continue to offer walk-in service only at Longleaf Middle School, weekdays from 8am to 4pm. The walk-in service locations at Dent Middle and Polo Road Elementary will no longer be available.

Please contact your student's teacher with any Chromebook problems first, as many times he/she can assist you easily.
