Publix Family Math Night is February 8th!

Attention 3rd & 4th Grade Families! 

You're invited to join RTE teachers at Publix Family Math Night on Thursday, February 8th from 6 to 8 PM at the Two Notch Road location. 

This will be an interactive family workshop that will allow students to practice addition, subtraction, multiplication and division skills (fluency!) in real-world scenarios that parents engage in every day - shopping!

Save the date and get ready for a Fun-filled evening with Family, Friends, and Food!  

Little Free Library at RTE

You are invited to select a book, read a                book, and return a book!  

Have you noticed a new addition in car rider line at RTE?  Sarah Park, a teacher from Blythewood High School, wrote a Sparkleberry Fair Grant for her students to construct, install, and fill Little Free Library boxes at local elementary schools.  Round Top's box was installed this Monday afternoon by four of Ms. Park's high school students.  Little Free Libraries are popping up all over the United States.  More information about the program can be found at https://littlefreelibrary.org.  They are designed for readers of all ages to aid in:

• Building Community
• Sparking Creativity
• Inspiring Readers

Box Top Contest Starts January 29th!

Hey Parents!

Our very exciting BOX TOPS Contest is set to take flight starting Monday January 29! This contest will run through Friday February, 23.

Here’s how you can help your student earn money for RTE! Any box top that you see, cut it out, put it in a Ziploc bag with your child’s homeroom teacher on it. (Example: B. Myers/Johnson 1^st. ) Side note: Any box tops turned in after the 23^rd of February WILL NOT BE COUNTED in the contest!

EVERY Friday for those students who bring box tops in, will be featured on Wing TV…and we all know how excited they get about being on TV!

There will be a weekly homeroom winner, and the top class will be rewarded with a few surprises. In addition to a weekly homeroom winner, there will also be an OVERALL HOMEROOM WINNER that will receive a class prize for Rainy Day Recess!

Just to give you a insight to how much we love box tops at RTE, we just received a check for just over $1600.00!!!  So thank you to all those who’ve already sent box tops in, we greatly appreciate your support!

 Please remember, they need to have your child’s name and homeroom teacher on the sheet or ziploc bag in order to count!

Paving the Path for Future Aviator Leaders!

Please take part in paving the path for future Aviator Leaders! Think about ways you can use the 7 Habits at home and write the activity you completed.  You may either send in the form that went home with your child in the 1’s 9 weeks Report Card Cover (shown below), or simply write what you did for each habit and email the list to Mrs. Stone at tstone@richland2.org.  Please include your name, your child’s name and teacher on the card so that we can deliver a rock in a timely manner!  Rocks will be sent home with detailed instructions at the end of February.  Please have your Habit cards in by February 1st so that your family will be one of the first to have a rock in our garden!

New RTE Dance Floor!

Did you know Round Top is an ABC (Arts in the Basic Curriculum) school?  

As an ABC site, Round Top related arts teachers write a yearly grant to ensure we receive funding to support the arts at our school.  Due in part to this yearly funding, we had a professional dance floor installed in our Dance room over the winter break. A sprung dance floor is an essential tool to effectively teach dance and provide for the safety of our students while they dance.  We want to thank the Round Top community for their financial support with our many arts projects including Peter Pan and Jammin' Java!  Boosterthon proceeds also helped as funds from these projects helped make our dance floor a reality.  We appreciate all the help and support from our community!
