Another First for Round Top!

The Boeing Center for Children's Wellness at the Medical University of South Carolina offers monetary awards of $1,000 to schools who qualified based on a point system for health, wellness, and nutritional initiatives.  14 Richland Two schools participated and the top 3 schools with the most points were recognized.  The one school with the most points was awarded an additional $2,000 bonus.  The school with the most number of points was ROUND TOP!  Pictured above are Mrs. Tucker - Principal, Mrs. Jovi - School Nurse, and Mr. Lally - P.E. Teacher as they receive the award and the $3,000 prize!

An Aviator Salute to Mrs. Debbie Eyers and the Verizon Foundation!

Verizon Wireless is committed to sharing their success with the community.  Mrs. Debbie Eyers, a Round Top parent, is an employee of Verizon Wireless.  Through the Verizon Foundation, Mrs. Eyers volunteers 50 hours per calendar year at Round Top and Verizon gives Round Top a $750 grant when the 50-hour requirement has been met.  This is the second year Mrs. Eyers has reached the 50-hour requirement, so Round Top has profited in a major way from her dedication!  We salute you, Mrs. Eyers!  Thank you for your dedication to the RTE Family!

Students See American History Up Close and Personal

Third grade students at Round Top had a rare opportunity today to view three documents of great historical significance.  Staff members from the South Carolina Archives brought South Carolina's original 1776 Constitution, an original letter signed by George Washington (see picture below), and one of only 14 original, handwritten copies of the United States Bill of Rights (see picture above).  Following a presentation about the documents, Attorney General Alan Wilson spoke to the students about his journey to becoming our 51st Attorney General and the importance of leading and being a leader regardless of where you are in your own life.

Congratulations 5th Grader Alex Hardee
